Reflection 9/27/2026

“God hasn’t promised to deliver what you desire, but he has committed himself to meet every one of your needs. That’s why it’s so comforting to know that you have a heavenly father who knows exactly what you need and is actively delivering.“

“What is your only comfort in life and death? “

“That I am not my own, but belong to a with body and soul, both in life and in death, to my Savior Jesus Christ. He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood, and has set me free from all the power of the devil. He also preserves me in such a way that without the will of my heavenly father, not a hair can fall from my head; indeed, all things must work together for my salvation. Therefore, by His Holy Spirit, He also assures me of eternal life and makes me hardly willing and ready from now on to live for Him.”

                                                                                                                                  – Heidelberg catechism Q&A #1

“All during these sins, typhoons, illness, mishaps, snake bites, crib, death, famines, and gas station robberies – God hasn’t taken His hand off the wheel for 30 seconds. His plans are being accomplished, despite, yes, even though, these tragedies. They are tragedies. He considers them so. He loathes the wickedness and misery and destruction itself – but He determined to steer what he hates, to accomplish what He loves.”

“Now Lord don’t move my mountain

But give me the strength to climb

And Lord, don’t take away my stumbling blocks

But lead me all around”
